New paper on the effects of serotonin on feedforward inhibition.
Feedforward inhibition decorrelates sensory representations to enhance discrimination. In this study, we report that feedforward inhibitory neurons in the olfactory system of Drosophila are differentially modulated by serotonin and project to different zones within second order processing regions that represent distinct odor categories.
